Issues With Film Again

Over half term, we booked a camera and tripod from the library again with the intention of filming corrections for the film on wednesday, the only day we were all free. However, it threw it down with rain all day, and seeing as our location was outside, this presented a problem. We got a bunch of umbrelllas and had at least one over the camera at all times to keep it dry. Instead though, the camera was seriously affected by the cold and the first battery we had lasted about half an hour, and we only had about fifteen seconds of useable footage. Then the camera got so cold that we had to stop filming, because the picture had black lines through it. On top of this, Andy didn't have all the right clothes on, and we hadn't had a chance to storyboard it properly.

In the end of the camera got so cold that the batterys were running out incredibly fast, and so we had to abandon the shoot when it stopped working all together. However, we have managed to arrange a new time, and yet another new location, and are just waiting for some more decent weather to film in, and the forecast shows we can do it soon, so it looks promising.

More Location Recce

This is a video I took whilst doing a bit more location scouting for our film. I did it to basically give a better idea what the area we are going to film in is like, which sometimes is hard to tell in photographs.

More Location Recce

After filming our 2 minute film, we went through it and edited it as best we could, but then ran into some problems. Firstly, as it turned out our location wasn't quite right in the end. It did look the part, but it looked quite amateurish, so we decided to film it again. We eventually settled on an outside location for the first bit of the film, and so we went and took some more photos. Secondly, we found that our footage was only a minute and twenty seconds long, which is a slight issue, so we would have had to of filmed the it all again anyway.

Here are the photos we took for our new location for the film.

This is the path along the side, higher up than the main route. It's quite well hidden by trees, but there is still a view down below of the main path.

This is another shot along the top side of the path, from another direction. This is just basically to show more of the area.

This shot is to show how much you can actually see from the high up path, of the lower down path. In places the trees are thicker, but this is one of the better spots.

This shot is of the main path, from where most of the filming will be done, because theres much more space to move the camera.

This is a shot of the main path again, but shot from the other direction to show what the area is like.

This is another shot from the higher up path, looking down to the lower path, further along than the previous shot.
